It has been a nail biting game as India crunched at final two balls of the super over to win the series in the New Zealand for the first time.
New Zealand have won the toss and elected to bowl first making India to bat first,India got off to a flyer start as Rohit Sharma ended the power play final over with 27 runs, reaching his fifty in just 23 balls.
From then New Zealand started chipping with wickets,Kl Rahul picked by De Grandhomme and Rohit Sharma,Shivam Dube was picked by Bennett in the same over after being picked for 27 runs in previous over.
Then Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer not in great rythum but made score board ticking and both hitting odd boundaries, then Shreyas Iyer was trapped after hitting Santner for six.
Then after Kohli also gone, then Manish Pandey and Jadeja’s off late flourish made India to set up 179 on board.
At start of New Zealand innings they also made a good start from first over but Guptill was picked by Shardhul Thakhur at the end of power play. Then Kane Williamson was looking good but Munro was picked up by Jadeja with his second ball.
Then New Zealand made Santner to come at no.4 but there was not much impact as he was bowled by Chahal then runs were most scored by Kane Williamson as wickets tumbling at other end.
Then New Zealand got a huge over of Bumrah and scored 11 runs off him and just need 9 runs from final over. And thoughts of 50-50 chances but Ross Taylor smashed first ball for six and every one thought that was game set for New Zealand but Shami picked Kane Williamson on 95 and New Zealand need one run on final ball but Shami bowled out Ross Taylor to make India still alive in form of super over.
One of the India’s best death ball bowler Bumrah was taken by Guptill and Kane Williamson for 17 runs in the super over.India were under pressure with that score on board,on first ball they took risky two runs and then Rohit tries to loft the ball but mistimed and took single then Rahul played a brilliant short for four and India need 10 runs in final two balls and guess what Rohit Sharma smashed consecutive sixes to drive India home.
And yet another heart break for New Zealand in super over as India already sealed the series with still two games left.
